Application to improve Blackpool Caravan Park

Posted on January 09th 2008

Plans have been submitted to expand a lake, which is part of the Sunset caravan park, on to former agricultural land, creating a body of water of around 80 metres by 18 metres. In addition, planning for six luxury static timber-clad lodges has been sought.

Carr Royd Leisure, who manages Sunset Park, was named as top caravan park in the Lancashire and Blackpool 2007 tourism awards.

The planning application submission, reported in the local Blackpool Gazette newspaper, describes the plans: "In effect, the relocated cabins would become private fishing lodges.

"The lake would be stocked with fish and would, in effect, become the residents' own private fishing lake."
