Arson destroys £350,000 of caravans

A blaze at the Outdoor Experience camping and caravan store compound near the A38 in Ashburton, Devon has left 30 caravans ruined and damage to another 60 is estimated. The nearby Masonic Hall has also been affected.
Luckily, no one was injured but an elderly couple living nearby, and a man living in a caravan on the site, were evacuated.
Gas cylinders nearby exploded due to the intensity of the fire.
It's just a smouldering wreck - a scene of total devastation," station commander Derek Russell from Ashburton Fire Station told BBC News.
Roadworks hampered the firefighters from Ashburton, Buckfastleigh, Newton Abbot and Totnes from reaching hydrants initially, and so overhead wires on telegraph poles melted and damaged some parked cars.
