Caravan site extension is declined

A Malvern static caravan park has had their planning permission proposal declined by the local council after fears that the implementation of more static vans would be detreimental to the local environment and community.
In total the council received 40 letters opposing the proposal for the increase in the number of static caravans. The original application requested permission for 24 static caravans to be stored at the site, but a few months ago further permission for another 31 vans was requested.
This application caused serious concern from the locals, arguing that the introduction of more caravans would disrupt the local community causing an increase in pollution to the area.
Locals were worried that the bordering village Leigh Sinton would become engulfed by the town Malvern, if the vast caravan park was allowed to expand inbetween the two settlements. It was this fear that lead to the campaign against the caravn parks expansion, as villagers attempted to stop the suburbanisation of Leigh Sinton.
The original proposal to increase the number of allowed caravans was at first welcomed by the council claiming the site would be an appropriate development for the area and would provide an added boost to the local economy. However a recent meeting by the planning council ruled that there were no real benefits from the parks expansion. The committee ruled that the proposal to expand the park would be declined and the original number of 24 caravans would be upheld.
