Expansion for caravan park

Posted on September 19th 2007

A caravan park in Ashton-under-Hill is to see a quadrupling in the number of vehicles allowed on the site, according to local media reports.

Following a move by Wychavon planners this month, Northfield Farm will now be allowed to have 20 caravans on its site – up from a previous limit of five, the Evesham Journal reports.

However, rallies, which were often held at the site are to be stopped in order to limit the damage to the surrounding village.

The increase in the number of vehicles allowed on the site is dependent on the owners agreeing not to hold any more rallies.

Mr D Keeling, who owns the site, told the paper: "There will be no sudden influx of caravans over a short period of time so that the impact on the village is lessened. We are trying to alleviate problems before anything happens.

"Most of the people coming to the caravan site will be visiting the village amenities and it will be good for the area."
