Fire crews unable to rescue caravan
Posted on September 16th 2008
Fire services were called to a blazing caravan left abandoned in Lindfield near Haywards Heath on Saturday (September 13th) night, it has been reported.
By the time they arrived, however, the caravan had been all but destroyed and the fire crews could only put out the flames to protect other properties.
It is thought that the caravan was destroyed by arson.
Such arson attacks are uncommon, but highlight the need to ensure a caravan is properly secured at all times and not left somewhere accessible by thieves or vandals without proper street lighting or CCTV.
However, even cautious owners can sometimes fall foul of criminals, and so caravan insurance should be purchased to protect an owner from the financial burden of replacing goods stolen from, or damaged in, a caravan.
