High-quality facilities ensure fabulous experience

Posted on May 30th 2008

Haven Holidays has reported a 30 per cent increase in bookings for June and July from 2007 to 2008. The usual reasons for choosing a caravan, camping or motorhome break - rising household bills, the falling pound exchange rate against the euro and other currencies coupled with environmental concerns over air travel and fuel output - appear to have been superseded by another.

Caravan and motorhome owners are finding that their destination includes all the facilities which they might find within a hotel complex.

Some Haven parks now include professionally designed golf courses, well-stocked fishing lakes, tennis courts and bowling greens. Organised activities range from formal swimming lessons to fencing, horse-riding and archery. Sandbanks holiday park, as well as having private boat storage also has a fully equipped spa offering health and beauty treatments for a pampered way to relax.

The cognoscenti have run together the words 'glamour' and 'camping' to describe the more luxurious pitches as 'glamping'.
