Luxury caravan destroyed in electrical fire
Posted on October 21st 2009
A caravan park in Dorchester called out fire crews in the early hours of Sunday 18 October, after a luxury caravan caught alight.
The park home, a £60,000 luxury caravan, was totally destroyed in what is thought to have been an electrical fire over the weekend at Morn Gate Caravan Park near Dorchester. Luckily no one was in the park home, which is owned by a local man, as it could have easily led to a fatality.
A family from the West Midlands, who were on holiday in a nearby caravan at the time, spotted the flames and raised an alarm waking the owners of the caravan site who were shocked to witness the caravan burning to the ground, a first for the caravan park.
Local fire fighters attended to the fire, which is not thought to be an act of arson, putting out the flames in around an hour and a half.
