Nicked caravan in broad daylight ruins holiday
Posted on August 10th 2009
During the summer holidays many families load up their caravans and head down to Dover to catch the ferry across to France for a few weeks break before returning to the grind of school and work life.
However for one poor unfortunate family, their holiday caravan didn't get as far as Dover. Whilst stopping at the Clacket Lane services on the M25 had their £5000 Dethleff Caravan stolen from their car.
The Dethleff owners will certainly be claiming on their touring caravan insurance to try an recuperate their losses and perhaps be able to salvage some of their ruined family break together which imaginably left the family devastated.
The Brazen thieves unhitched the van from the family tow-car on Monday, 3 August and the thieves manage to re-hitch it to another car or load on another vehicle in a very short amount of time.
The Surrey Police are appealing to the caravan community to keep an eye out for the vehicle so that the family can resume their summer holiday.
