Peterborough - caravan stolen from farm
Posted on August 08th 2008
Peterborough police are looking for witnesses to the theft of a caravan, after it stolen and driven through corn fields.
The caravan, which was cream in colour and a single axis design, was taken at 7.30am from a farm, before it was towed straight through a field of corn, police have announced.
At 15 years old, the caravan was not left in a secure place, and the owner could not give details of the brand or model.
Such a story highlights the essential nature of caravan insurance, as without a policy, there is no way of protecting owners' finances from the significant cost of replacing the vehicle.
There are also precautions that can be taken to increase the safety of a caravan or motor home, such as locking it in a secure garage, or keeping it at a long term and secure car park.
