Plans for caravan site have been postponed
Posted on November 02nd 2009
Ayr was set to be the most recent spot for a caravan site along the prestigious Ayr coastal roads, but plans have been postponed as a number of complaints have been made. The park was set to cover 1200 meters of coastline allowing space for 93 static caravans and 49 touring caravans but local residents are worried that this will ruin the areas credibility.
A total of 432 letters where received by the local council each one stating how they did not want the plans for the park to go ahead. One person's letter even went as far to say, "If the caravan park is established this area will definitely become un-safe and certainly become less desirable."
Mark White the businessman behind the idea has reassured that he plans to conceal the site behind trees and will include a pond. This has not thwarted the objections in anyway as the locals are more concerned about the behaviour of the sites holiday makers than the site itself.
