Seafields caravan park in Seahouses North Sunderland has been awarded the gold medal in a ceremony celebrating tourism in the north-east, it has been reported.
The 2008 North-East England Tourism awards were held in Newcastle on Tuesday (October 28th) and Seafields were handed the Caravan Park of the Year award for the second year running.
Speaking about the award, Ken Britton, director and general manager at the park, told Berwick Today: "This award and the tremendous publicity it generates will have a massive impact for us in terms of raising the profile of the caravan park nationwide.
"It's also good for staff morale - after all, everyone likes a pat on the back."
The park will now go forward to a national competition in which it will represent the area.
Caravan owners may already be familiar with the park and some may have been visiting for years.
