Yorkshire flooding traps 5 caravaners
Posted on August 11th 2008
Fire and rescue services had to retrieve a family of five yesterday from flash floods after their caravan and car became stuck in high waters.
The family was taking a drive in the North Yorkshire Dales and were caught in a flash flood which caused them to become stuck in the road, unable to continue or turn back
Luckily nobody was injured in the event thanks to the police's call to the fire services which alerted the rescue operation.
However, the sudden nature of the otherwise danger-free day serves to remind all motor home owners of the importance of caravan insurance, despite how careful an owner is.
The floods were reported to have been a complete surprise to many and so the damage to the caravan could not have been predicted by the family.
